About
A snake-like migratory fish that is born in, and returns to spawn in, the Sargasso Sea. In Hungary it occurs mainly in Lake Balaton and larger rivers, from past stockings. Nocturnal; caught by ledgering worms or fish strips. Its stocks are endangered across Europe.
