About
A warm-water catfish from Africa, kept in fish farms and fishing ponds fed with thermal water. It cannot survive in cold water, so it cannot establish itself in natural waters. Caught on pellets and fish strips.
Spawning season
Does not spawn in Hungary.
The closed seasons and size limits shown here are the national (general) rules in Hungary. Some waters – such as Lake Balaton, Lake Velence or Lake Tisza – and local fishing rules may set different, stricter limits; always check the local rules before fishing.
